Can I see Mount Kilimanjaro from Amboseli?
Yes, on clear days. Kilimanjaro is in neighboring Tanzania, but Amboseli offers some of the best unobstructed views of it from Kenya. Early morning is usually the clearest, before cloud cover builds up later in the day.
How far is Amboseli from Nairobi?
About 240 km, roughly a 3 to 4 hour drive. Amboseli is also commonly combined with a Masai Mara or Naivasha leg on the same trip rather than visited alone.
Is Amboseli or Masai Mara better for elephants?
Amboseli is generally considered the better park specifically for elephants, with larger herds and easier, closer sightings due to the open terrain. Masai Mara has more elephants overall in East Africa's ecosystem but denser bush can make sightings less predictable.
