The Ultimate Mara-Nairobi Rhino Quest

Experience the absolute best of Kenya in one streamlined journey. Designed to start the moment you land, this 6-day adventure eliminates the typical "buffer days" in the city, taking you straight to the legendary Masai Mara and ending with a sophisticated, high-impact stay in Nairobi. This is the ultimate package for those who want to see it all—including the elusive Black Rhino—without feeling rushed.

Why This Trip is Different This itinerary flips the traditional safari on its head. Most tours leave Nairobi as an afterthought; we treat it as a vital wildlife destination. By combining the vastness of the Mara with the concentrated biodiversity of Nairobi National Park, you "complete" the Big Five in a single, stress-free trip.

Itinerary

The Experience Highlights

  • Immediate Immersion: With your 5:30 am arrival, we bypass the city haze and whisk you to Wilson Airport for a scenic flight or travel by road via Rift Valley Escarpment. By midday, you are already in the Masai Mara, enjoying your first lunch in the wild.

  • The Mara Magic: Spend three nights in the world's premier wildlife theater. Whether it's the Great Migration (July–Oct) or the lush Green Season (Jan–June), the Mara’s big cat population offers unparalleled sightings every day of the year.

  • The Rhino Sanctuary: While rhinos are a rare treat in the Mara, they are a hallmark of Nairobi National Park. As one of Africa’s most successful rhino sanctuaries, this "urban wild" provides your highest probability of spotting both Black and White rhinos against a backdrop of city skyscrapers.

  • The Conservation Trio: Meet the world-famous elephant orphans at Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, hand-feed the gentle Rothschild giraffes, and see the groundbreaking work being done to save Kenya's most endangered species.

  • 05:30 AM: Land at JKIA, Nairobi. Your private guide transfers you to Wilson Airport or to Masai Mara by road passing thru the Rift Valley scenic Escaprment.

  • 10:30 AM: Fly to the Masai Mara (for the flight option).

  • 12:00 PM: Landing and transfer to Mara Siligi Camp. Enjoy a warm Maasai welcome and a fresh, organic lunch overlooking the plains.

  • 3:00 PM: First game drive in the Mara. Look for the “Big Cats” that frequent the area near the camp.

  • Evening: Dinner under the stars at Siligi.

  • Overnight: Mara Siligi Camp.

  • We can make this transfer to Masai Mara by road as well

Option A: The Split-Session (Relaxed & Rejuvenating)

  • Morning (6:00 – 12 noon): Sunrise drive to track big cats at their most active. Return to camp for a hot, gourmet breakfast.

  • Midday: Relaxing lunch and siesta at the camp. Enjoy “armchair safari” views from your private tent deck.

  • Afternoon (4:00 – 6:30 PM): Head out as the heat fades. Ends with Sundowners (optional)- (cocktails and snacks) in the bush as the sun sets.

Option B: The Full-Day (The Explorer’s Journey)

  • All Day (6:00 AM – 4:00 PM): Depart after breakfast to explore deeper reaches of the Mara (like the Mara River).

  • Bush Picnic: Enjoy a private lunch served under a lone Acacia tree in the middle of the savannah.

  • Experience: Maximizes your time in the wild; perfect for photographers and those wanting to see the “hidden” corners of the reserve.

  • Morning: Nature walk, plant a tree and breakfast at Siligi.

  • 10:00 AM: Flight or by road back to Nairobi.

Afternoon Flex: Check into your hotel and choose your afternoon:

    • The Culture Path: Visit the National Museum for Kenya’s heritage, prehistoric fossils, and the Snake Park.

  • Overnight: Nairobi

  • 06:30 AM: Nairobi National Park. This is your best chance for Rhinos. As a premier sanctuary, sightings here are nearly guaranteed against the city skyline.

  • 11:00 AM: Sheldrick Elephant Trust. Meet orphaned elephants during their mud-bath hour (Advance booking required).

  • 01:00 PM: Giraffe Center. Hand-feed the endangered Rothschild giraffes.

  • 03:00 PM: Artisanal Shopping for unique souvenirs.

  • Morning: Relaxed breakfast. Depending on your flight, visit a local gallery or take a final stroll.

  • Afternoon: Transfer to JKIA for your international flight home.

Included / Excluded

To help you plan your trip, we have put together a list of what's included and what's not included in your tour package. This will give you a clear understanding of what to expect and help you make any necessary arrangements before your journey begins.

Travel Tips Section

Tech & Power: Even the best camps can have “silent hours” for generators. Bring a 20,000mAh power bank to ensure your camera and phone are charged for those long full-day drives in the Mara.

Rhino Reliability: Nairobi National Park is one of the most successful Black Rhino sanctuaries in the world. If you missed them in the Mara (where they are shy), ask your guide to focus on the bushy areas of NNP’s western side—you are almost guaranteed a sighting here.

Masai Mara Park Fees

USD 100 per adult per day (Jan- June)

USD 200 per adult per day (July-December)

Pro-Tip for Jan–June:

Because the park fees are lower during this “Green Season,” the reserve is much quieter. Whether you choose full-day or split drives, you will often find yourself at sightings with no other vehicles around—a luxury rarely found in the peak months!
